About me
I'm an AI Engineer and Researcher at the Greek National Centre of Scientific Research 'Demokritos', specializing in neurosymbolic AI and machine learning applications in biomedical research. I hold a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens.
My work focuses on developing hybrid ML approaches that combine neural networks with symbolic reasoning for complex event recognition, cancer progression modeling, and forecasting applications.

- Currently working on a paper for Nature Machine Intelligence on interpretable hybrid ML approaches for cancer progression modeling, in collaboration with Barcelona Supercomputing Center.
- My startup Calt won multiple innovation awards including 2nd place at Hack2BRIDGE (€3,000), 3rd place at Innovation Attica, and 2nd place at Ennovation Accelerator (€1,000).
- Completed my M.Eng. thesis on "Exploration and Classification of Breast Cancer Stages using Genomic Data" achieving 80% F1-macro score with ML models and explainability metrics.

Currently developing interpretable hybrid ML approaches to model cancer progression in synthetic temporal gene expression datasets, in collaboration with the Barcelona Supercomputing Center. Paper in preparation for Nature Machine Intelligence.

Developing neurosymbolic pipelines combining MLPs with HMMs for forecasting Covid-19 cases and implementing forward recognition frameworks using Neural Networks with DFAs for deadlock recognition from robotic trajectory data.
